My New Series: Pioneer Number 10

In 1972, NASA launched a unique space probe carrying humanity’s most important achievements on board (including music by Beethoven and the Beatles).
On its exterior is mounted a golden plaque, placed there in the hope that any intelligent extraterrestrial life might learn of humanity and our planet’s position in the universe—although the probability of this is exceedingly small.
What is shown on the plaque?
A nude man and a nude woman.
The man raises his right hand in a gesture of greeting.
The depiction is stylized and neutral to avoid cultural misunderstandings.
The proportions were chosen so that, together with the outline of the probe, they provide a scale for our height, alongside a diagram of the hydrogen atom—the most abundant element in the universe.
This new series presents my interpretation of this golden plaque.
In what state are humanity and the planet we live on?
What has become of the values we have fought for since the French Revolution and of the emancipation since 1900 and the movement of 68?
How will it all end?
